Draw It Out®

Caring for Senior Horses

Older horses carry our stories. Our job is to keep them comfortable, confident, and moving well—without burn, sting, or drama. Here’s a calm, repeatable plan anchored in sensation-free, show-safe routines.

What changes with age (and how we respond)

  • Longer warm-ups/cool-downs: give joints and soft tissue time to settle.
  • Heat management: some seniors don’t sweat the same—cool gently and hydrate early.
  • Skin sensitivity: choose fragrance-free, no-sting care and keep gear clean/dry.
  • Stocking up: light movement + wrap-friendly support keeps legs happy.

Daily Routine (AM / Post-Work)

AM | Loosen & Protect (3–5 minutes)

  1. Hand-walk or light lunge 5–10 minutes.
  2. Apply a thin, even layer of Draw It Out® 16oz High Potency Gel to legs and large muscle groups.
  3. Wrap or boot if your program calls for it; keep gear clean/dry.

Post-Work | Cool, Target, Support (3–6 minutes)

  1. Cool: Whole-body IceBath™ (dilute 1:10 to sponge or use RTU spray). Air dry—no rinse.
  2. Target: CryoSpray® on hot legs or large muscles; let dry.
  3. Support: Light layer of 16oz Gel; wrap if desired.

Spot-test new products. Keep out of eyes and open wounds. Dress for weather so seniors don’t chill after cooling.

Hydration & Electrolytes (Senior-smart)

  • Offer early, not late: pre-work and post-work access to water supports comfort.
  • Travel days: keep flavor and routine consistent.
  • Choice matters: provide a bucket with electrolyte water per label and a second bucket of plain, fresh water.

Gentle Skin Care

  • Clean & calm: quick no-rinse refresh with IceBath™ 1:10; pat dry.
  • For stubborn spots: RESTOREaHORSE® liqui-gel salve stays put on high-motion areas.
  • For rubs & scurf: Rapid Relief Restorative Cream—smooth, quick-setting, fragrance-free.

FAQ

Is this senior program show-safe?
Yes. Draw It Out® formulas are made without typical show-restricted ingredients and are suitable for FEI/USEF environments when used as directed. Always follow your association’s current rules.
Can I wrap over Draw It Out® Gel?
Yes. Apply a thin, even layer; wraps/boots sit comfortably over it. Keep gear clean and dry and check legs at each change.
Do your products burn, tingle, or smell strong?
No. They’re sensation-free and fragrance-free—no menthol burn, no alcohol sting, no dyes or perfume.
What’s the fastest “good enough” cool-down?
IceBath™ full-body → CryoSpray® on hot spots → thin coat of 16oz Gel. Three minutes, big difference.
How often can I use these on a senior?
Daily use is common—especially in training or show weeks. Adjust to workload and your horse’s response.
