Posture clue

Horse Standing Parked Out

A parked-out stance may be a brief stretch, or it may be a clue that the horse is trying to unload pressure. Read the pattern before choosing a routine.

First check the pattern

If the posture is sudden, repeated, paired with heat, strong pulse, movement change, or the horse seems seriously uncomfortable, get qualified help before riding.

If the horse moves normally and this looks like routine body tightness, use the support path below.

Quick barn checks

  • Compare both front feet and both hind feet.
  • Watch the horse walk forward and turn.
  • Check whether the stance disappears with easy movement.
  • Compare today to what is normal for that horse.
