The short version
We include a peppermint with Draw It Out® orders because every box really has two customers: the rider who ordered it and the horse standing over their shoulder, certain the entire shipment was arranged on their behalf.
To be fair, they are usually right.
The unwritten rule of the barn
Before the tape is cut, before the packing paper comes out and usually before you have carried the box all the way into the barn, somebody is already inspecting the delivery.
That somebody probably did not place the order. They did not enter the shipping address or watch for the delivery truck. According to barn law, none of that matters.
If something comes into their barn, they are entitled to investigate it. Preferably, they would also like to eat part of it.
Every order has two customers
The rider
Chooses the products, places the order, tracks the shipment and opens the box.
The horse
Appears at exactly the right moment and assumes everything inside belongs to them.
Draw It Out® products are ordered by people, but the reason behind the order is almost always waiting in a stall, standing at the fence or nosing through the box.

Why a peppermint?
The peppermint is not a rebate, a promotion or some complicated loyalty program. It is simply the horse's cut.
It is a small thank-you for the animal at the center of the work, the worry, the early mornings and the reason the order was placed in the first place.
There are faster and more automated ways to ship a box. We still believe the small touches matter. They show that somebody on the other side remembered who the box was really for.
One small ritual in a big relationship
A peppermint will not change the world. But the moment around it can make an ordinary delivery feel a little less ordinary.
It is the crinkle that brings the ears forward. The hopeful nose drifting toward your hand. The look that says the shipment has been inspected and the packing process has been found acceptable.
Much of horsemanship is built from small, repeated acts of care: checking a leg one more time, filling a water bucket before leaving, noticing when something feels different and staying five extra minutes because your horse asked you to.
The peppermint belongs to that same spirit. It is small on purpose.
Who gets the peppermint?
If treats fit your horse's normal feeding plan, the intended tax collector is probably already waiting.
If your horse has dietary restrictions, metabolic concerns or a feeding plan that rules out peppermint candy, follow the guidance of your veterinarian or equine nutrition professional. You are also fully authorized to collect the tax yourself.
We will not tell.
