Hydro-Lyte® Feeding Routine

A practical feed-room guide for using Hydro-Lyte® with GastroCell® as part of a hydration, electrolyte, hauling, heat, and gut-support routine.

Fast answer: use Hydro-Lyte® according to the product label, tied to the horse’s actual situation: heat, sweat, hauling, changed water, work, and show schedule. Do not use it to cover up a horse that is sick, dehydrated, colicky, depressed, or not drinking.

Before you feed it

  • Confirm the horse has clean water available.
  • Know whether the day includes heat, sweat, hauling, travel, or changed water.
  • Check manure, appetite, attitude, and normal baseline.
  • Read the product label and follow directions.

When it fits best

  • Hot weather and humidity.
  • Hauling, shows, clinics, jackpots, rodeos, trail rides, and overnight events.
  • Horses that sweat heavily or drink less predictably away from home.
  • Programs wanting a sugar-free, dye-free electrolyte and gut-support lane.

What not to do

  • Do not feed electrolytes without water access.
  • Do not ignore colic signs, depression, abnormal manure, or off-feed behavior.
  • Do not use product language as a substitute for veterinary care.

If your horse refuses the feed

A horse that stops eating a familiar ration after a supplement is added is giving you useful information. Do not keep increasing the amount or insist that the horse finish the altered meal.

  1. Remove the supplement from the next offered ration and confirm the horse will eat the familiar feed.
  2. Check the current label before trying another feeding route or schedule.
  3. If the label permits more than one route, use only the route the horse accepts and keep separate plain water available at all times.
  4. Contact Draw It Out® support or your veterinarian before changing the dose, combining products, or trying to mask refusal with extra flavoring.

Stop the product question and call your veterinarian if refusal continues or appears with reduced drinking, dullness, colic signs, abnormal manure, weakness, fever, or heat-illness signs.
