Payton Golding, barrel racer and Draw It Out® Real Rider of the Month.

The short version

Payton Golding has spent 15 years riding and caring for horses. Her horses split time between home and college boarding, so her routine has to work in more than one barn, through more than one season, and under the pressure that comes with barrel racing.

Her go-to product is Veterinary Strength Liniment Gel, and she uses Draw It Out® as part of her after-run care routine to help keep her horses ready for the next job.

Meet Payton Golding

Payton rides out of Gold-N-Arrow Ranch in Carlyle, Illinois. Barrel racing is her lane, and like most good riders, her routine is built on repetition more than noise.

Part of the year, her horses stay at home. Part of the year, they board while she is at college. That means her care system has to be steady enough to travel and simple enough to stay consistent.

The horses behind the story

Payton owns two horses. Kissin Howie, known as Howie, is 7 this year. Famous Bluefirewater, known as Josie, is 4.

Josie has already shown the kind of toughness horse people understand. She recently recovered from a broken hip after she and Howie tried to walk through a concrete door together. It is the kind of story that sounds almost funny until you have lived through the vet calls, the waiting, and the long road back.

“Draw It Out liniment has become the main part of my after-run care with my barrel horses. It has completely changed their recovery.”Payton Golding

Keeping barrel horses ready to run

Payton uses Draw It Out® to help keep her horses sound, cared for, and ready to run. Her seasonal go-to is Veterinary Strength Liniment Gel, especially when Illinois weather forces more stall time.

That is where after-run care earns its place. Not in theory. Not on a whiteboard. In the real window after the run, after the adrenaline comes down, and before tomorrow asks for another ride.

Seasonal care in Illinois

Payton deals with cold weather and hot weather, which means her routine changes with the season. When horses are stalled more because of bad weather, she leans on electrolytes and liniment gel as part of her care plan.

That is real horse care. Not one perfect answer for every day of the year. A watchful eye, a consistent routine, and enough discipline to adjust when the weather changes.

Payton’s best horse care advice

Long trotting

Payton believes in lots of long trotting to help keep horses in shape and ready for work.

Long cantering

The quiet conditioning miles matter. They show up when it is time to run.

Where she likes to ride

Payton’s favorite riding spot is the Cherry Expo at Murray State University. It is one of those places that becomes part of a rider’s rhythm: part arena, part memory bank, part proving ground.

Why this spotlight matters

Payton first heard about Draw It Out® through Facebook. She has recommended the products to friends and fellow riders because, in her words, she loves the products she has tried.

That is exactly why the Real Rider community exists. Real riders care deeply, ride hard, and put the horse first without needing a spotlight to prove it.

You can follow Payton’s equestrian journey on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube at @Payton_Golding, and on Facebook as Payton Golding.

Find the right Draw It Out® routine for your horse

Not every horse needs the same format. Some riders want liniment gel. Some need spray. Some need a concentrate for the wash rack. Start with the horse in front of you.
