Horse Skin Care by Format and Job

Quick answer: Choose Rapid Relief Spray for lighter broad coverage, Rapid Relief Cream for controlled hand application, and RESTOREaHORSE® when a heavier stay-put salve format fits. Choose a bundle only when you understand why each included product belongs in the barn routine.

Skin problems can look alike while having different causes. Dirt, moisture, friction, insects, clipper irritation, pastern changes, cannon-area buildup, wounds, and infection do not all belong in the same product lane. Inspect first, clean gently, dry appropriately, and stop routine care when the finding needs a veterinarian.

What should I use for minor horse skin irritation and grooming care?

Inspect first, then choose one simple lane. Remove dirt and friction, clean gently, dry as appropriate, and check the current product label. For routine external skin care, choose Rapid Relief Spray for lighter coverage on hair-covered areas, Rapid Relief Cream for focused hand application, or RESTOREaHORSE® when a heavier stay-put salve format fits.

Do not stack several products or use routine grooming care to cover an unexplained rash, open wound, spreading crusts, marked itching, heat, swelling, drainage, odor, pain, fever, or worsening change. Those findings belong with a veterinarian.

Rapid Relief Spray

Lighter application for broader, hair-covered, or awkward areas where controlled spray coverage makes more sense than rubbing.

Rapid Relief Cream

Focused hand application for smaller external areas when placement control and a cream texture fit.

RESTOREaHORSE®

A heavier stay-put salve format for riders who want a more persistent layer in an appropriate external skin-care routine.

Horse skin care cream and spray set: what is included?

The Draw It Out® Skin Care Duo includes one Rapid Relief Restorative Cream 8oz and one Rapid Relief Restorative Spray 8oz. It gives you two application choices: cream for focused hand placement and spray for lighter, broader coverage.

Check the Duo page for current availability. If you need just one format, view Rapid Relief Spray or Rapid Relief Cream individually. A two-pack of spray contains two spray bottles; a two-pack of cream contains two jars.

Use each product according to its own label. A set gives you a choice of formats; it does not require applying both to the same area.

Use one clear lane

  • Record what the area looked like before cleaning or applying product.
  • Do not pick attached crusts, scrub painful skin aggressively, or stack random topicals.
  • Avoid eyes, mouth, nostrils, and mucous membranes.
  • Recheck for pain, heat, swelling, drainage, odor, spreading change, or irritation.
  • Contact a veterinarian for deep wounds, punctures, fever, lameness, tissue near a joint or tendon, or a problem that is worsening.

Compare the formats in Horse Skin Spray vs Cream vs Salve. For cannon-area buildup, use the Cannon Crud Guide. If you are unsure whether the concern belongs in skin, hoof, stiffness, or travel care, use the Solution Finder.

Sources and editorial standard

This collection guide distinguishes ordinary grooming and label-directed external skin care from findings that may require diagnosis or treatment. Product-format statements were checked against current Draw It Out® listings. General warning signs and tack-related skin boundaries were reviewed against veterinary references.
