Real Rider: Stephanie Schwagler of Rochester, Washington, brings a wide-angle view to horse care. Her riding background includes dressage, hunters, jumpers, cross-country, sorting, mounted shooting, gaming, roping, in-hand work, and now barrel racing.
Howdy is her 23-year-old palomino AQHA jumper turned professor, semi-retired and teaching the next generation. Remi is her 19-year-old bay AQHA barrel horse, plain on paper and legendary in personality. Flirt is the young blood-bay prospect with Remedy breeding and firecracker energy.
Stephanie was not looking for another horse when she met the seven-month-old filly then called Pixie. The filly bit her on the backside, gave her a look, and settled the question. Flirt had her name.
Stephanie’s program is not built around constant reinvention. She told us her go-to is liniment concentrate after riding, and SuperClean® has earned a place in the barn and trailer routine when real-life messes show up.
“My horses’ health and wellbeing is my top priority. Caring for athletes can get expensive and exhausting. Draw It Out products are affordable, easy to use, and they work. Regardless of the level you ride at, caring for them matters.”
That experience also shapes how she conditions. Her English background and dressage-based work influence the way she develops fitness, balance, and readiness without pretending every horse needs the same program.
Stephanie returns to Scatter Creek when she needs quiet. It is a stretch of woods tied to childhood hikes with her father, gratitude, and perspective. She also supports youth riders by sharing time, knowledge, and encouragement.
Current routes from her routine include Draw It Out® 32oz Horse Liniment Concentrate and ShowBarn Secret® SuperClean® 32oz.
Bottom line: Stephanie’s story is not one discipline or one horse. It is decades of learning, a diverse herd, and the discipline to keep care repeatable.
