Real Riders of Draw It Out®: Stephanie Schwagler

Some riders try one discipline and stick with it.

Stephanie Schwagler has done just about all of them.

Dressage. Hunters. Jumpers. Cross country. Sorting. Mounted shooting. Gaming. Roping. In hand. And now, barrel racing is where her focus lives.

Stephanie has been around horses her entire life. While she has only been riding seriously for the last eight years, her background runs deep, and it shows in how she conditions, rides, and cares for her horses.

Her horses live at home. Nothing fancy. Just happy, healthy, and well cared for.

Meet the herd

Howdy is her 23 year old palomino AQHA jumper turned professor. Semi retired, full belly, always dirty, and happily teaching the next generation.

Remi is her 19 year old bay AQHA barrel horse. Plain on paper. Legendary in personality. Think elderly snapping turtle energy.

And then there is Flirt. Almost three years old. Blood bay. Remedy bred. Firecracker personality.

Stephanie was not looking for another horse when she met Flirt. She definitely did not have the money. But eight hours away, a seven month old filly named Pixie bit her on the butt, gave her a look, and sealed the deal.

That was the moment Flirt got her name.

Why Draw It Out®

Stephanie’s absolute go to is the liniment concentrate. She uses it after every ride, year round, without changing her routine based on weather or season.

She also relies on SuperClean, especially when real life hits. Like forgetting to clean the trailer and finding mold. No hoses. No hassle. Just spray and move on.

“I feel like my gelding genuinely loves working now. After a hard ride he knows he’s getting sprayed down and massaged with something that makes him feel like a youngster again.”

Consistency over seasons

Stephanie does not overhaul her program with the seasons. She sticks with what works.

Liniment gel year round. Breathing cream year round. Simple, repeatable care that supports athletes without overcomplicating the process.

Her English background plays a big role here. Dressage based conditioning has shaped how she keeps her horses fit, sound, and ready to perform.

Real rider perspective

“My horses’ health and wellbeing is my top priority. Caring for athletes can get expensive and exhausting. Draw It Out products are affordable, easy to use, and they work. Regardless of the level you ride at, caring for them matters.”

Stephanie is also big on sharing what works. From working in a local tack store to selling products through TikTok, she recommends Draw It Out® because she has seen the difference firsthand.

Especially for older horses.

Off the arena

When she is not riding, Stephanie escapes to Scatter Creek. A quiet stretch of woods with no vehicle access. A place she hiked with her dad growing up. A place tied to memories, gratitude, and peace.

She also gives back by supporting youth riders whenever she can, passing on knowledge, encouragement, and time.

That mindset is exactly what Real Riders are about.

Washington barrel racer Stephanie Schwagler shares a lifetime of riding experience, a diverse equestrian background, and a simple liniment routine that keeps her horses comfortable year round.
