Daily Barn Routine: The 12-Minute Mobility Flow

Make soundness simple. This calm, repeatable prehab flow keeps joints moving, tissues elastic, and attention settled—without heat, sting, or fuss.

Speakable summary: A 12-minute, show-safe routine: smooth walk-in, sensation-free soft-tissue support with Draw It Out® Gel, quick neuromuscular drills, then ride. Calm, consistent, and effective.

The 12-Minute Mobility Flow

1) Walk & Range (4 minutes)

Lead large circles and figure-eights. Keep the tempo relaxed and elastic. Goal: quiet stride lengthening—not stretching contests.

2) Sensation-Free Soft-Tissue Prime (2 minutes)

Apply a light pass of Draw It Out® 16oz Gel to forearms, gaskins/hamstrings, and lumbar. Immediate movement afterward helps distribute without tingle.

3) Neuromuscular Wake-Up (4 minutes)

Choose two: raised walk poles, tiny serpentines, three straight-step backs, or small figure-eights. Crisp reps. Stop before it feels like “work.”

4) Mount & Flow (2 minutes)

Ride lightly into your normal warm-up. Maintain a longer rein and soft rhythm until the horse offers easy elasticity.

Why This Works

  • Circulation first: walk-in raises muscle temperature gently; fascia glides instead of bracing.
  • Sensation-free priming: soft-tissue support without heat or sting keeps focus calm and movement honest.
  • Quick activation: micro-drills wake stabilizers so the first minutes under saddle are already organized.
  • Consistency over intensity: twelve minutes every day beats the occasional long session.

If you notice heat, swelling, sudden asymmetry, or behavior change, pause and consult your veterinarian or qualified bodyworker.

Daily Routine FAQs

How strict is the 12-minute timing?

Keep it short on purpose. Consistency is the point—small, daily wins build durable soundness.

Can I use liniment before riding every day?

Yes—use a sensation-free option like Draw It Out® Gel to support soft tissue without heat or sting.

Which two drills should I choose?

Pick what restores rhythm quickly for your horse: raised walk poles, tiny serpentines, or three straight-step backs are reliable starters.

What if my horse is tight on cold mornings?

Extend the walk-in by 3–5 minutes, then follow the same routine. See our Winter Mobility Routine.

Founder’s Note · Jon Conklin

Can liniment really be used every day? Yes. I built our liniment gel after watching too many horses react to formulas that were never designed for regular use. Daily care should support movement, not create new problems.
