Post-work routine

What to Use After a Hard Ride

Short answer: after a hard ride, walk the horse out, cool correctly, check legs and body, clean sweat and dirt, then choose liniment, cooling wash, RTU spray, or clay brace based on what the horse actually needs.

Hard ride checklist

Before product

  1. Walk out and monitor breathing.
  2. Check legs, feet, back, shoulders, sweat pattern, and attitude.
  3. Rinse or groom based on weather and workload.
  4. Offer water and monitor recovery.

Product by need

  • Gel for targeted body care.
  • RTU Spray for fast coverage.
  • Concentrate for broader wash-rack routines.
  • IceBath™ for cooling wash support.
  • MasterMudd™ for leg-brace routines.

Best first product

If the horse is simply body tired after normal hard work, start with Draw It Out® 16oz Liniment Gel. If heat and wash-rack cooling are the issue, look at IceBath™. If the routine is leg-brace focused, look at MasterMudd™ EquiBrace™.

Red flags after a hard ride

  • Abnormal breathing, distress, or poor recovery.
  • Sudden lameness, severe stiffness, heat, swelling, or pain.
  • Colic signs, fever, dehydration concern, or behavior changes.
  • Anything that worsens instead of improving with normal care.
