Real Rider Protocol (Educational Only)

The 3-Day Gel Challenge

Three days. One bottle. A calm, show-friendly routine any rider can run: cool & scrape, thin gel on intact skin, optional wraps, and a 15–30 minute recheck. Track notes, photos, and changes—then decide.

How It Works (Simple & Repeatable)

  1. Baseline: Walk straight lines, feel both legs for heat, compare left vs. right. Palpate the digital pulse at the fetlock/pastern.
  2. Cool & SCRAPE: If warm, use short cool-water passes and scrape between so fresh cold can contact the leg (10–20 minutes total).
  3. Thin Gel: Apply a THIN layer of Draw It Out® Gel to target zones on intact skin. Let hair go dry-to-touch before tack or wraps.
  4. Optional Standing Wraps: Smooth quilt, even tension, ~50% overlap. Recheck at 15–30 minutes for heat/tension/slip.
  5. Note Changes: Heat, fill, stride quality, transitions, and attitude—then repeat for 3 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers from the barn floor—expanded details below.

Do I have to buy directly from the Draw It Out® website?

No. You can absolutely shop here on our official site, but our products are also available from trusted retailers and dealers:

Prefer to buy local? Use our Dealer Locator to find a retailer near you.

Is the 3-Day Gel Challenge safe for show days?

Yes—our routine is designed to be quiet and show-friendly. Apply a THIN layer on intact skin and allow hair to go dry-to-touch before tack or wraps. Always follow current rules for your discipline and venue.

Can I use standing wraps during the challenge?

Optional and rider-dependent. If you wrap: use smooth quilts, even tension, ~50% overlap, and recheck at 15–30 minutes for heat, tension, and any slip.

Should I cool legs first?

If warm, use short cool-water passes and scrape between passes so fresh cold can contact the leg (total 10–20 minutes). Then apply a thin gel layer.

Can I apply gel on open skin or wounds?

No—only apply to intact skin. If you see open skin, punctures, or anything concerning, stand down and call your veterinarian.

How do I track progress across the three days?

Use the sliders for heat/fill, the checkboxes for steps, and the notes + photo upload boxes. Your entries save locally to your device/browser and are not sent to us unless you submit the form in the Results section.

What size should I start with?

Most riders run the challenge with the 16oz High Potency Gel. If you’re managing multiple horses or a long show week, consider adding a 64oz Gel to avoid running short.
