Stocked-up legs may improve with ordinary movement, but one-sided, hot, painful, or worsening fill is different.
Treat the change as information, not a diagnosis. Head bobbing, a hip hike, gait breaking, four-beating, a shorter stride, reluctance to go forward, a higher head, or sudden resistance can come from feet, tack, workload, soreness, balance, training, or a medical problem.
Look for symmetry, heat, swelling, hoof sensitivity, digital pulse, wounds, breathing changes, weakness, or a stronger pain response.
Review recent farrier work, footing, saddle and pad fit, workload changes, hauling, warm-up, cooldown, and recovery time.
