Step 1 — 60s

Prep & Scan

  • Brush clean/dry; quick heat/fill/rub check.
  • Pad & girth cleanliness → friction audit.
  • Hoof pick; note anything off.
Step 2 — 2–3 min

Prime & Warm

  • Thin layer of 16oz Gel on fronts/shoulders, back/SI & loins, hamstrings.
  • Let absorb fully; wipe excess near tack.
  • Long-and-low walk; big circles, serpentines.
Step 3 — in work

Work & Micro-Checks

  • Build rhythm; sprinkle transitions & poles.
  • Between efforts: walk 30–60s; re-scan feel.
  • Coach’s notes → log after ride.
Step 4 — 3–5 min

Cool & Rebuild

  1. Walk down; remove tack; wipe sweat/dust.
  2. Thin gel again on worked zones; allow absorb.
  3. Standing wraps optional (intact skin; recheck heat/tension at 15–30 min).
Step 5 — 30s

Reset & Log

  • Note: rhythm, attitude, any heat/fill.
  • Set tomorrow’s focus (mobility, strength, easy day).

FAQ

How thin is “thin” for gel?

About a dime-size per major zone (e.g., a shoulder or hamstring). You want contact, not slickness. Hair should feel dry-to-touch before wraps or tack.

Can I tape over gel?

Only after full absorption and on dry, intact skin. Follow EQUINE | DEFENDER directions; don’t tape over wet product or compromised skin.

Fastest show-day loop?

Prep & Scan (60s) → thin gel & absorb (60–90s) → long-and-low walk (60–90s) → ride → thin post-ride gel → optional wraps with checks.

Run the loop. Win the day.
