Quick Taping Guide

1) Prep

Clean & dry legs. Apply a thin layer of Draw It Out® Gel if using under wraps. Optional pre-wrap on sensitive skin.

2) Wrap

Start mid-cannon, spiral down then up with even tension—50% overlap. Avoid creases. Add standing wrap if using.

3) Anchor

Use athletic tape at the top and bottom for a clean finish. Check for circulation: two fingers should slide under.

Monitor heat and comfort. Remove and refresh after work or per your program.

FAQs

What sizes should I buy?

Most barns run 4" cohesive for legs, 1.5" athletic tape to anchor, and standard foam pre-wrap for skin-sensitive horses.

Can I use Draw It Out® Gel under wraps?

Yes—our gel is wrap-friendly, odorless, and colorless. Apply a thin, even layer and follow your barn protocol.

How tight is too tight?

Even tension, moderate snug. You should be able to slide two fingers under the wrap. Rewrap if you see pinching or swelling above/below the bandage.

Haul day tips?

Keep it clean and consistent. Use shipping boots for quick changes or standing wraps for longer hauls. Recheck at fuel stops.

When should I call the vet?

If you see heat, lameness, persistent swelling, or the horse is uncomfortable—pause and consult your veterinarian.
