Ingredients and why each is included

Amounts below reflect the current formula per one-scoop dose. Sodium chloride and potassium chloride perform most of the direct electrolyte work, while the remaining minerals and GastroCell™ ingredients round out the formula.

Primary electrolytes

  • Sodium Chloride, 1,656 mg: supplies sodium and chloride, two major electrolytes lost through sweat. They support normal fluid balance, muscle contraction, and nerve function.
  • Potassium Chloride, 1,152 mg: supplies potassium and additional chloride to support normal fluid balance, nerve signaling, and muscle function.

Supporting minerals

  • Magnesium Oxide, 192 mg: supplies magnesium for normal muscle and nerve function and energy metabolism.
  • Zinc Sulfate, 60 mg: supplies zinc used by normal enzyme systems and involved in maintaining skin, coat, hoof, and immune function.
  • Manganese Sulfate, 9.6 mg: supplies manganese involved in normal enzyme activity, connective tissue maintenance, and bone metabolism.
  • Dicalcium Phosphate, 466 mg: supplies calcium and phosphorus for mineral balance, normal skeletal function, and energy metabolism.
  • Ferrous Sulfate, 26.88 mg: supplies a small amount of iron involved in normal hemoglobin formation and oxygen transport. Hydro-Lyte® is not positioned as an iron supplement or blood builder.

GastroCell™ Blend

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Mononitrate), 50 mg: supports normal carbohydrate metabolism and nerve function.
  • Magnesium Chelate, 114 mg: provides an additional magnesium source for normal muscle, nerve, and metabolic function.
  • Betaine HCl, 840 mg: supplies betaine, an osmolyte involved in cellular water management, and complements the GastroCell™ digestive-support portion of the formula.
  • L-Glutamine, 170 mg: supplies an amino acid used by intestinal cells and other tissues to support normal digestive-tissue maintenance.

Flavor and formula protection

  • Natural antioxidants and rosemary: help protect ingredients from oxidation and maintain product freshness.
  • Apple and molasses flavor: supports palatability in the horse's normal feed.

Formula update: Sodium fluoride has been officially removed from the Hydro-Lyte® formula. Some packaging may still display the previous ingredient panel during the label transition.

Important: Hydro-Lyte® contains potassium chloride. For a horse with HYPP or a veterinarian-directed potassium restriction, confirm suitability with the treating veterinarian before use.

The Draw It Out® Standard

Our name is on the front because we stand behind what is inside.

Every product has a clear job. Every ingredient has a reason. Every claim should come with a straight answer. If it does not genuinely serve the horse or earn its place in the barn, it does not carry the Draw It Out® name.

Why this product carries our name: Hydro-Lyte® earns that name with clearly published electrolyte and supporting-mineral amounts, a defined GastroCell® role, and straightforward guidance about where the formula fits.

  • Purpose before trends: built for a real barn need.
  • Ingredients with a job: chosen to support the formula's intended use.
  • Plain answers: clear directions, clear limits, and no barn magic.
  • Accountability: our name stays attached to the questions and the answers.
