EQUINE | DEFENDER™ BY DRAW IT OUT®
Copper-fiber construction.
Built around the horse.
We are developing a copper-fiber kinesiology tape for riders and equine professionals who want flexible taping as part of a practical horse-care routine. Our focus: dependable hold, movement-friendly construction and clear directions.
What we are building it to do
Flexible support and cueing
Designed for light support and movement-awareness applications within an informed equine taping routine. Placement and technique matter.
Copper-fiber material
A material distinction within the EQUINE | DEFENDER™ family. Supplier-provided reports document copper in submitted yarn/fiber samples, with separate antimicrobial testing on a fiber sample.
Practical barn use
Planned for riders, trainers and bodyworkers who already use tape or want to learn. Single-roll and six-pack options will let you choose the amount that fits your routine.
The material testing behind development
We want you to see both the results and what was actually tested. The supplied documents concern yarn or fiber samples, not finished EQUINE | DEFENDER™ tape and not clinical trials in horses. The samples in the separate reports have not been established as identical to one another or to the final production material.
1. Copper-content analysis
February 9, 2018: Report ASH18-005760-01 records 1,260 mg/kg copper in the submitted fiber sample, using ICP-OES analysis with reference to US EPA 3052:1996.
November 25, 2024: Report SL62416352403401TX records 1,574 mg/kg copper in submitted yarn described as copper antibacterial polyester, style HT240625. The stated method references US EPA 3052:1996 with ICP-OES/AAS analysis.
What this tells us: copper was measured in those samples. These values do not establish the copper concentration of the finished tape, copper absorption, or a therapeutic benefit. The supplied 2024 copy contains pages 1 and 2 of a report labeled as three pages.
2. Antimicrobial activity in a fiber sample
A report issued by Jin Da Nano Tech (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. on October 12, 2018 describes a silver-colored antimicrobial fiber sample tested under GB/T 20944.3-2008, the textile antibacterial shake-flask method. It reports the following inhibition rates after 18 hours of contact:
Results apply only to the tested fiber and laboratory conditions
| Test organism |
Reported inhibition |
Escherichia coli ATCC 29522, as printed in the report
|
99.5% |
Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538
|
94.3% |
Candida albicans (yeast) ATCC 10231
|
93.9% |
What this tells us: the submitted fiber showed activity against the listed organisms under the stated conditions. The report does not identify the finished tape, establish that copper caused the result, or demonstrate protection against infection on a horse. These are not finished-tape kill-rate claims.
Straight answers before launch
Does copper mean better pain relief or faster recovery?
The supplied material reports do not measure pain, circulation, healing or recovery in horses. We are not presenting them as evidence of those benefits. Copper K Tape is being developed as a taping tool, not a treatment for wounds or infection.
Is the finished product certified by these reports?
No. These are supplier-provided sample test reports, not a finished-product certification or laboratory endorsement of EQUINE | DEFENDER™. Final material traceability and product specifications remain part of development.
How long will it stay on, and how should I apply it?
Final Copper K Tape directions and wear-time guidance will be published before release. Hold depends on coat preparation, placement, sweat, friction and the individual horse. Current equine taping guidance is available in our K Tape guide; it does not replace the final copper-product instructions.
Can I use liniment underneath it?
Plan tape applications on clean, dry hair. Keep liniment, oils, creams and coat products off the taped area and adhesive edges. Follow the final product directions when released.
Follow the development. Know what you are buying.
Copper K Tape remains in development and is not available to purchase. Complete specifications, directions and launch details will be added here before release.
