Care Guide

Equine Soft-Tissue Care

A simple, rider-ready routine for tendons, ligaments, and big muscle groups.

Soft-tissue strain can sideline steady horses fast. Day-to-day management—warm-up, sensible workload, footing, and tidy grooming—does the heavy lifting. Here’s the routine real barns use and where Draw It Out® fits.

1) Know the usual suspects

  • Load spikes, slick/deep footing, short warm-ups or rushed cooldowns
  • Saddle/pad fit or shoeing cycles that drift out of balance
  • Asymmetry and muscle fatigue late in the week

2) Spot early signs

  • Localized sensitivity on grooming or palpation
  • Stiffness/shortened stride; reluctance to stretch
  • Warmth or swelling along a structure
Vet-first: For lameness, persistent heat/swelling, or gait changes—call your veterinarian and align on diagnostics/rehab.

3) Build a daily routine

Before work

  • 3–5 minutes of walking
  • Gentle bends and carrot stretches
  • Light, flat-hand massage with Draw It Out® Gel on large groups (either side of spine—avoid bony processes), shoulders, hindquarters

After work

  • 3–5 minutes of walking out
  • Tidy topical application as part of grooming
  • Hand-walk or controlled turnout as advised

Where Draw It Out® fits

Draw It Out® 16oz High Potency Gel is a sensation-free topical used in pre- and post-work massage. It applies cleanly, pairs with daily grooming, and can be used under standing wraps per label. It’s a supportive aid—not a diagnosis or treatment.

Once or twice daily on work days is common. Follow the product label and your veterinarian’s guidance.

Can I use under wraps?

Draw It Out® Gel can be used under standing wraps per label. Avoid tight occlusion unless your veterinarian directs it.

Does a topical replace vet care?

No. Use it as a supportive massage/grooming step alongside a veterinary plan, good footing, fit checks, and sensible workload ramps.

External use on intact skin only. Avoid eyes and sensitive areas. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Always follow your veterinarian’s advice.
