Draw It Out® Horse Health Care News
Old barn recipes get passed around fast. Before mixing sugar, liniment, or any hoof paste, slow down and ask the better question: what is actually going on with the hoof?
Horse barns are full of recipes.
Some are harmless. Some are outdated. Some are repeated because they sound old enough to be true. Hooves are not the place to prove a homemade mix works because somebody heard it from somebody who heard it from somebody at a show.
When a hoof is sore, cracked, draining, punctured, separating, or changing fast, the answer is not kitchen chemistry. The answer is inspection and qualified help.
Do not pack mystery mixtures into a hoof problem you do not understand.
Draw It Out® products should be used according to label directions, not mixed into homemade formulas unless a product is specifically designed and labeled for that use. For hoof routines, choose products built for hoof-care support and use them on appropriate hooves.
Shop Hoof Care or use the Solution Finder.
Get farrier or veterinary help for sudden soreness, punctures, strong odor, drainage, swelling, deep cracks, hoof-wall separation, or any hoof issue you cannot clearly identify.
Old recipes do not outrank good hoof care. Clean the hoof, understand the problem, use labeled products correctly, and call the farrier or vet before a small issue becomes a bigger one.
This article gives you the background. If you are ready to put the idea into a real horse care routine, these are the next places most riders should go.
