Mane and tail care
Horse Grooming System for Manes and Tails
Short answer: Start with clean, dry hair, separate tangles gently from the ends upward, braid with even sections and comfortable tension, then protect finished work with a tool that fits the job. ShowBarn Secret® Braiding Spray is retired and no longer sold direct. There is no exact spray replacement.
A simple three-step routine
1. Clean and dry
Remove sweat, dirt, and bedding before detangling. Let the mane or tail dry fully before bagging or leaving braids in place.
2. Separate gently
Work from the ends upward in small sections. If you use a current leave-in grooming product, follow its label and use only enough for manageable hair.
3. Braid and protect
Keep sections even and tension comfortable. Black Braiding Tape can help secure finished braids, and a clean Deluxe Tail Bag can protect a prepared tail.

Frequently asked questions
Is ShowBarn Secret® Braiding Spray still available?
No. It is retired and no longer sold direct.
What is the exact replacement?
There is no exact Draw It Out® spray replacement. Tape and tail bags help with securing or protecting hair, but they do not replace a grooming spray.
How can I prep without a braiding spray?
Use clean, dry hair, small even sections, and consistent comfortable tension. Follow the label for any current grooming product you choose to add.
