Real Rider Spotlight – Chrissy Walter
November 2025
About Chrissy
With 18 years in the saddle, Chrissy Walter has carved her own lane in the equine world. Her first 12 years were spent in dressage, learning the precision and poise of the sport. For the past six years she’s shifted gears into the thrill of barrel racing — owning her own stable, Sinful Sorrels, and calling Illinois home.
Her journey took a defining turn when she purchased Little Pepto Lynx — sight-unseen, unstarted at 4 years old. Now, three years later, Lynx is winning buckles, running 20-second pole patterns and proving that heart, grit and smart care beat height every time.
“Everything aligned for her to be shipped from Ohio to Illinois with Standardbred horses,” Chrissy reflects. “I was kind of shocked to see her standing 13.2hh against those 16hh horses — but she held her own, just like I hoped she would.”
The Horses
- Little Pepto Lynx (“Lynx”) — 8-year-old cow-bred Quarter Horse mare, the firecracker at the heart of Chrissy’s program.
- Mulberry’s Last Play (“Poker”) — 2-year-old running/cow-bred Quarter Horse prospect with big potential.
- Evie — 11-year-old miniature pony who rules the barn with attitude and charm.
The Care Routine
At Draw It Out® we believe the difference is in the details. And Chrissy lives that belief. Whether she’s prepping for a run or cooling down after a day in the arena, she uses a focused set of products to keep performance high and recovery smart.
Her go-to favorites:
- Draw It Out® Liniment — “I use the liniment almost weekly to make sure my mare feels her best before and after every run.”
- Breathe to Run™ — “It helps us get every ounce of performance possible in the arena.”
- IceBath — “In the summer I love using the IceBath to wash her down. It keeps her cool when the heat hits hard.”
In her role as a PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) practitioner, Chrissy also recommends Draw It Out® products to her clients — especially when horses are dealing with sore muscles or in need of extra recovery support.
Trail Favorite
When she’s off the clock, Chrissy hits her favorite trail: Jim Edger Panther Creek. Woods, creek crossings, open fields — and a large bridge over a deep wide creek where Lynx gets to open up and fly. It’s their escape, their recharge zone, and a reminder that every ride matters, whether it’s timed or just sweet.
Rider’s Top Tip
“Consistency is key,” Chrissy says. “Do it tired, do it sore — just go do it.” That mindset — showing up, doing the work, honoring the horse — defines not just her routine, but her attitude.
