EQUINE | DEFENDER™ K Tape Use Guide

Use EQUINE | DEFENDER™ K Tape when the job is equine kinesiology tape, movement cueing, bodywork support, show prep, hauling, or recovery-day gear.

Quick answer: Apply equine kinesiology tape only to clean, fully dry hair. Do not use liniment, oils, fly spray, coat polish, creams, or other topicals under tape.

Best uses

  • Bodywork and movement-awareness routines.
  • Training, hauling, show prep, and recovery-day support.
  • Single-roll testing before a larger tape program.
  • Six-roll bundle use when taping is already part of the barn routine.

How to use

  1. Start with clean, dry hair.
  2. Brush away dust, sweat, and loose hair.
  3. Apply tape using a practiced pattern and appropriate tension.
  4. Watch for rubs, lifting, irritation, or poor adhesion.
  5. Remove carefully and use topicals after tape removal or on off days.

Do not tape over

  • Open wounds or irritated skin.
  • Unknown swelling or painful areas.
  • Fresh liniment, oils, sprays, or coat products.
  • Dirty, damp, sweaty, or greasy hair.
