Ask prospective farriers about experience with your horse’s needs, scheduling, pricing, handling expectations, professional credentials, and how they collaborate with veterinarians when a case requires it. Urgent pain, sudden lameness, severe hoof damage, heat, swelling, drainage, or rapidly changing symptoms require prompt professional evaluation.
