The right size depends on the number of horses, the area you cover and how often the routine calls for gel. A larger container gives you more supply, not a different application direction.

Track how much gel your actual label-directed routine uses over a week. Do not assume every horse needs the same amount or that a bottle lasts a fixed number of rides. A small targeted area and multiple legs or a broader area use different amounts.
Choose 16oz while learning your routine. If you already finish bottles regularly, compare 64oz with the current 16oz multipacks. Separate bottles can be more convenient for a trailer, tack room and several handlers.
Divide the current pack price by the total gel ounces included. Include every bottle in a multipack. Then weigh the upfront cost against how often you use it. The product selectors show current prices and stock.
